My family and I are in to exotic birds and wildlife. We heard of the beautiful birds in your islands. We are leaving our London villa to not only enjoy your culture but would looooovee to do Bird Watching.. Where can we go, and would it be possible to get a guide? Should we pack our English Grey tea bags or can we buy them there? We heard so much about the beauty of you lands and can't wait to get there. Tar, Tar.....
I'm not really sure what it's called, but I'm looking for a place where I can take my mum, for mothers day, to look at birds and learn about birds and things. Almost like a zoo, but for birds. It has to be in or near Bucks (would possibly be able to get to London via the tube). Any ideas on where to go would be really helpful, thank you :)
In other countries the birds are very afraid of people. Even when you're walking far away from where the bird is, it freaks out and watches you're every move. When I went to London, the pigions ate from my hand and were all over me LOL. What's the answer?
I live in Southern California, but I was also curious where others like to go. I think my favorite bird is the brown pelican. Not only are they just amazing to just look at, but I love watching them feed.
I need to know what is the best camera for bird watching. I would also like to know what brands of binoculars are great for bird watching too.
I have been shopping around for a camera with long zoom and good megapixels for bird watching. However, all the cameras I searched for sacrifice picture quality for mega zoom. Any suggestions for super zoom cameras under $500?
I live in Oregon and there a a few bird types but I want to get different ones like more finch type birds.
My mom has mentioned wanting a bird id book several times; so I thought it might make a good mother's day gift. She has many bird feeders and would like something with good pictures. She's not going hiking in the woods to watch birds so something for just the backyard bird feeder would do nicely. Any help is really appreciated, thanks!
they r nice folk and dont want to upset, but since they got these cats they terrorize the birds and small animals, kill them even though they are fed @ home. we've had and fed birds for 35+yrs, now that has ended. any suggestions?
I'm a European, and I'm traveling to Asia son. Is there any scary birds I shall watch out for?.lol! but serious I heard something on the news about bird flu but when I turned on my TV the news was almost done, so I didn't chats up exactly what they said.
I cracked up she looked like the bird on the darts team in the pub!!

My friends, uncles, sisters friends sons cousins nephew was hiding in a tree whilst he was bird watching and then this naked lady started screaming at him for some reason. He ended up spending time in the local lock up.
Are there any trustworthy tour operators that offer a guided bird watching trip to Kolleru lake and its environs? Would appreciate the contact details... Thanks
It is my hobby. I could lead a group of beginner bird watchers. I own two small charter/tour buses. My "big bus" seats 25 and has a luggage compartment. It has tv/dvd and upgraded seating and sound proofing. My smaller bus would seat 21 if it were not for the wheelchair lift. It has no tv/dvd and base model vinyl seating for 14 plus 2 wheel chairs. One seat folds up to make it 12+3. I am about 30 miles from NYC. On weekdays, the smaller one is in service for a good contract. The larger one is used for charters and tours 4-5 days a week. To work them more, I want bring people from the city to enjoy fruit picking and wineries about 40 miles north of here. There are several good bird sanctuaries in the region. I know some very well and others fairly well. Do you think urbanites would be interested in this sort of day trip? I'd also buy 3-4 pairs of $80-100 Nikon binoculars for the passengers to borrow. Does it sound interesting? Thanks for your input.
My husband and I are doing a week long trip to Paris. We will not have a car and I would like to do a morning of birdwatching somewhere in the city that can be reached by train or bus. We are staying in Montemarte. Any ideas?
Hello, I'm interested in bird watching, what does that consist of beside learning the information about the birds? Do you use special equipment, do you go to special places, do you have certain techniques?
The best time of day/place? What equipment do I need? Which birds are easier to watch? How do I know which bird is which?

It was white with black spotted wings and a large black breast band across it's white chest. It's most distinguishing feature was the bright red crest on it's head. It also had a long black beak that it used to forage on the ground. In flight, the underside of it's wings took on a hint of gold. There were three of them in foraging in our yard which borders a small, low grass prairie. I've been watching birds for two years and have never seen the likes of him. My Sibley bird guide didn't have anything like it in there either. Does anyone know what type of bird this is?
I would have to say the robin in my opinion. I moved to Florida from Wisconsin and I don't see them that much anymore. I used to get a kick out of the way they listen for worms in the ground and tilt their head and then pull one up out of the ground. Baby robins also look awesome. Occasionally in the winter, I will see them. But not often. Although the other two are very cool. I see a good amount of them here in Florida. And every so often (although quite rare) I will even see an oriole in the wintertime. I like to watch birds in the park alot. I know, I have no life.
For years Mrs. Sydney, the wealthiest dowager in New York City, had vainly tried to outwit Dr. Haledijian. As the famous criminologist selected a cigar from the tray held by the Sydney butler, a wicked gleam came into his hostess's eye. It was time for playing stump-the-detective... "John DeMott, Paul Houk, and Lee Roach were partners in a successful New York jewelry business," began Mrs. Sydney. "Last January they flew down to the Florida Keys to spend a month at DeMott's lodge. "One afternoon DeMott took Houk, an avid fisherman but a nonswimmer, out on his forty-foot cruiser. Roach, whose hobby was bird watching, remained behind. "Roach says he was sitting behind the lodge when he spied an exotic orange bird, belonnging to a species new to him, fly by. He followed it to the front of the house, and through binoculars watched it building a nest, high in a palm tree. "Quite by chance, he moved the binoculars out to the water and saw DeMott and Houk struggling on the yacht. Roach says DeMott shoved Houk over-board and held his head under water. "DeMott claimed that Houk had leaned over the side to gaff a fish, and, losing his balance, fell into the ocean. He drowned before DeMott could reach him. "The coroner ascribed death to drowning. At the trial, it was simply DeMott's word against Roach's." :The jury deliberated less than five minutes," concluded Mrs. Sydney. "No doubt, my dear doctor, you won't need so long to realize who was lying." Haledijian didn't. Do you?
I live in florida and we just had a huuuuuuge storm, when i came home from walmart we went to go check on a nest in a medium sized tree, i found the nest on the ground and a little baby bird outside of it... My dad, after i begged him not too, picked up the nest and put it back in a tree, than took the baby and put it back in the nest, i wasnt happy. But i did know that there were 2 baby birds missing still and i didnt know if the mama bird moved it or if a cat, living under our house with 3 kittens took them, and the reason y he moved the bird is cuz he didnt want the cat to get it... while my dad put the nest and baby bird back the mama bird watched him, the baby bird is still sitting up there all by itself... my question is do you think the mama will come get it? is it 100% true that if you touch a baby the mama wont come back?????HELP PLEASE... i feel bad for the baby.
My cat begins to "chirp" while watching birds through the window. It's not a chirp but pretty close.
Have you ever really sat and watched a bird? Watch how they walk around, pecking, socializing with each other? Watch how they fight over things in the grass, etc? Have you noticed how fast the eyeballs pop out if you squeeze them too hard?

when is the best time of the year to clean your bird houses
I live in Virginia on a farm with animals and an orchard surrounded by woodland. My house is pretty private is it is at the edge of a long dirt road. I am considering buying and putting up several bird houses around my yard. Here are my questions: 1) What kinds of birds in Virginia will nest in man-made boxes, so what kind of bird houses should I get? 2)Where sould i put the houses (please tell me for each different species)? 3) How high should I put them and how far apart? 4) what is the most number of houses i can have in my yard (8 acers)? 5) I have several feeders near each other that there are always birds on, but I've read not to put houses near the feeders. How come? 6) If I attach houses to the side of my barn, will they nest in them? Also, will robins and swallows nest on perches inside my barn? Any advice you have would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!!!
We added several new home built bird houses this spring. We didn't get any purple martins or blue birds, but swallows, finches and some wrens happily built nests. Should we clean out the houses before next spring, or will that discourage the birds from using the houses again. The barn swallows keep returning to their nests in our barn and we never touch those nests.
I love in Durham Region, ON. And I want to get a bird feeder for my backyard. Does anyone know a good link to show me what kind of seed mixes will attract certain types of birds? Thanks for the help.

I want to know the right bird feeders and bird food to put out to attract all the pretty birds. And when do you put out hummingbird feeders? Are there better places than others for bird houses/feeders? I have a bird bath nearby for them...anything I need to know about that? We have a big picture window out front and the kids love watching the birds eat and play so I would like to have a "bird area" out front with my flowers. Cats aren't really a problem here and the kids don't bother the birds....just watch from the window. What are good types of foods and for what seasons? I noticed the dough suet stuff I put out was never a favorite but they all liked the berries and other kinds. Well, not the orange stuff. I just don't want to be feeding our neighborhood birds the equivalent of McDonalds food! Also, I live in Missouri if that helps!
Why do people call it a bird bath when it is really a misquito farm?
I have a stark white plastic bird bath but I want it to be a different color to match the house or not stand out so much. I didn't know if it'd hurt the birds to spray paint it, although I've never seen birds in it. Also wondering if the paint peel quickly under the water?
I'm thinking of putting a bird bath in my back yard (so they'll have water and then my backyard can be a good habitat). I'm worried that mosquitos will breed in the bird bath though (water). I don't have time to change the water every day..Any tips?
I have lots of wild birds in my area. Mostly sparrows. In my front yard I have a feeder, bath, and bird house. Is there anything more I can give them this spring (mating season)?
My mother had a new storm door installed and I guess wild birds see the light reflected and think there's a hole there. They keep flying into it and one or two song birds have died. What can she do to help prevent birds from flying into her glass door? It must be a reflection on the glass as the door behind it is dark brown and generally closed.
I have put a bird table with feeders full of wild seeds & peanuts etc, but still there are no birds attracted to my garden. It may due to the fact my house is on a new site & it may take time for the birds to come. Any ideas?
Many people have told me my birds need to be on a pellet diet. I know they are full of vitamins and all that jazz...but I feed mine seed. That is what they would find in the wild...I also provide fresh fruits and vegetables regularly. My birds are living healthily and happily. I just don't see what the big deal is about pellets. Can someone please explain?
I live in Minnesota and see a lot of raccoons, squirrels, rabbits around my house. The bird feed is on my deck.
